Self Care Saturday: Relax, Relate, Release

Seasonal depression is a real thing and approaching to a bed near you. Life can really get to us sometimes so it's important that we find relaxing ways to deal with the chaos. Here are some ways that you can take care of the most important person in your life; YOU:

At Home Facials

Stores like Target, Wal-Mart, and Walgreens have inexpensive masks that you can apply at home between $2-$5. I use them all the time and they have actually done wonders for my skin. Side note: let me know if you want an extensive post or video on my skincare routine.

Read a Good Book

When I have time to pick up a good book I'm in so deep that I forget to eat sometimes. I should probably get in the habit again so I can shrink this waist, but that's besides the point. Escape and expand with a good book!

Write

Writing is a great way to express yourself and can be a great outlet to let it all out. You can find cute journals/notebooks everywhere. When you feel like fighting take it out with a pen. You're too cute for jail sis.

Meditate

I personally like to turn on the Gospel station on Pandora when I'm completely over everything and everyone. Designate a personal sanctuary where you can block out all noise, close your eyes, and woosah. That place for me is my room. I close the door then commence to relax, relate, and release.

Netflix

There are so many entertaining series and movies that you can binge on on Netflix. What better way to distract yourself from the annoyances of your world than to have a good laugh? If you don't have a membership by now I suggest you get a friend to slide you that login.

Online Shopping

Now some may argue that this may not be wise especially if you're trying to save but umm I don't care what anyone says; retail therapy sure helps me feel better! Just make sure all your important things are paid first then ball out (reasonably).

Lastly, I'm a heavy believer in therapy! Read my thoughts on that here: I Popped My Therapy Cherry

Happy Healing! xoxo
