Style Spotlight: Andreya LoveLace of House of LoveLace

I used to model back in college with a group called F.A.C.E. She was one of the designers a few times and I've remembered her ever since (especially because I wish I was picked to wear her designs). This girl boss is definitely one to know! Her work has even been featured in this past season of Love and Hip Hop Atlanta on Keely. She is certainly one of my motivations. Meet Andreya LoveLace of House of LoveLace:

What are 3 words to describe you?
Bold. Complicated. Artistic.

What are your current inspirations; whether it be a person or trend?

Powerful and beautiful rebel women of the past. Grace Jones, Pam Grier, Dorothy Dandridge just to name a few. But I always put my own twist on it with that urban 90s flare like from the movie boomerang and movies like BAPS.

When did you realize you had a talent for design?
I think my mom realized it before me. I used to get in trouble for cutting up my church socks to make clothes for my Barbie dolls. She saw I had a gift and just started nurturing it in her own way ever since.

Have you ever felt discouraged from launching your brand? What made you take that leap of faith?
I felt discouraged plenty of times. What keeps me going is the fact that I believe in myself. I believe greatness is going to come for me I just can’t quit.

What approach do you take when you begin a new piece?
I don’t really have an approach, I just create.

I've noticed that you released a couple of tracks recently. Have you always been into music or did you just discover a new talent/passion for it?
I’ve actually always loved music. Before I started designing clothes seriously I used to be in the studio all the time. I just decided to bring the two things I love together music and fashion, one day just thought why not?

What would you say is your biggest accomplishment to date?
Absolutely nothing, I got a lot of work to do.

What's your pro tip for entrepreneurship?
My number one tip for entrepreneurs is to stay focused and move at your own pace ! Don’t worry about what anybody is doing around you just do what you gotta do.

Where do you see yourself/House of Lovelace a year from now?
Out of Connecticut. On a more national scale and more to be more than a clothing line. It’s a lifestyle.

Stay up on on the beauty below
