10 Ways to Avoid Seasonal Blues
The weather seems to have a big impact on our moods. I personally believe everything should be cancelled if it’s cloudy or raining outside. I get in my feelings about everything that currently sucks and just want to dive right back into bed. I also hate being cold. So, if I don’t absolutely have to be somewhere I avoid going out at all costs. We’re not bears; we don’t need to go into hibernation. I’m sure you don’t want to pack on extra pounds or sulk every day so I’ve compiled a list of things that’ll help you get out of the funk:
1. Find a Hobby you Love

Try to find the time to delve into your interests and figure out what brings you the most joy. Maybe one day you can turn your hobby into a career. And even if it doesn’t turn into a full time gig at least you’ll be happy. Work a little bit towards your dreams each day.
2. Stay Active

As the temperature drops, I know it’ll be harder to get motivated, but you don’t have to stick to the traditional workouts at the gym. There’s so many new classes that are so fun it won’t even feel like you’re working out.
3. Have Date Nights

This isn’t only directed to those in a romantic relationship. Grab your closest friends or favorite cousins and go bowling or painting. Keep it going as often as your schedules permit so you always have something to look forward to.
4. Take Mini Trips
If your money’s been tight you can still enjoy the luxuries and fun of an expensive destination. Visit a nearby state and look up different activities you’ve never done before. You don’t have to book a flight to have a good time when there’s so many things right in your backyard.
5. Learn Something New
It’s never too late to learn something new. Brush up on the Spanish you learned in high school or cook that Facebook recipe you have saved. The world has so much to offer and you have the opportunity to experience it.
6. Finish that DIY Project
I bet there’s a bookcase you never put up or that shoe self you never added to your closet. You pass by it every day when you get home saying “I’ll get to it tomorrow” but then tomorrow turns into 2 years and you never finished.
7. READ
Get those brain cells working' and pick up a good book! If e-bboks are your thing, get your self a Kindle. Whether it’s a romance novel or biography READ. I’ve learned some of the most important things about life and business from reading book.If you need some suggestions Black Privilege and You Are a Badass are great reads. The library still exits too by the way.
8. Perfect Your Craft

The only competition you have is you! It’s important to take a step back sometimes and reevaluate decisions you’ve made (or haven’t), goals you’ve set aside, assignments you never finished. If you’re a photographer set up a few photoshoots; the fall/winter make for beautiful pictures. Take this time to buckle down and put you first.
9. Surround Yourself with Positive Things/People

With that said, the energy you put out as well as the energy you allow to enter your life is essential. When you have great people around that support and encourage you and speak things into existence great things will happen.
10. Stay Consistent

Work on your goals a little each day, but don't stress yourself out! Remember to never compare your chapter 1 to someone else's chapter 20. Everyone has their own journey so enjoy your ride. You'll get there when God intends just keep putting faith and work hand in hand.
